This Is The Coveted New Triumph 250F Motocross Bike

The New Triumph 250F, with champion racer Ricky Carmichael being part of the production team, has been kept a secret until now.

With the new Triumph 250F being the talk of the year, we’re finally getting a first look at the dirt bike that could be the next best motocross bike. The MX community has recently stated that RC and Triumph plan to drop the full release of this bike on September 5, 2023, however, Triumph made a surprise appearance at the final round of the SMX Championship after a barrage of fireworks and pyrotechnics.

Ricky “The Goat” Carmichael, alongside Jeff “Six-Time” Stanton (whose most recent championship was also won at the Coliseum back in 1992), took the new Triumph 250Fs around the track for a bit of a parade-lap, before RC announced the official reveal date – November 28, 2023. This means you may see them on showroom floors in perfect time for the holidays. Who wouldn’t be stoked to see an all-new Triumph 250F under the Christmas tree?

Triumph has announced it’s plans to implement the new 250F into the competitive supercross and Moto GP circuits of 2024, with a new 450F model following the year after (2025). Unfortunately, the riders have not yet been announced. This bike will feature decades of motorcycle-building knowledge from Triumph while also utilizing Ricky Carmichael’s motocross expertise, making this dirt bike a potential threat to the brands currently ruling the market such as KTM, Honda, or Yamaha.

What do we know so far?

Ricky, along with Triumph have done a great job of hiding this dirt bike from the media, while only providing limited information about the current status of the bike. This is whats known so far:

  • The dirt bike will use an aluminum frame similar to that of the Yamaha motocross bikes
  • The engine is based on a KTM 250SX-F engine
  • The plastics will be black
  • We have not been able to confirm, but to remain competitive, the bike will be fuel-injected and will likely feature an electric start

While other brands such as Honda and Yamaha have made certain models with an all-black color scheme, Triumph will be the first to employ this look on all of their bikes. Some resemblance from the KTM is seen on the plastics, while the frame looks more reminiscent of a 2008-era YZ450F/YZ250F. Dont get it twisted, however – the performance of this frame will be light years ahead of a 2008 YZ frame.
